Still Life: Street
Still Life: Street
New book project focuses on stories captured in a single image.
From the beginning, “Still Life” was created not as a journalistic effort but as an artistic pursuit to tell a story within a decisive moment. With a button click, I create fertile ground for the viewer’s imagination to take hold and interpret the resulting image. The pages of this book contain a body of work from both film and digital formats, spanning nearly 30 years. Shot sporadically on weekends and short trips I call walkabouts, the book is an eclectic collection of images from various cities, including New York, Boston, and Toronto. “Still Life” is an invitation to the state of seeing and is the result of a personal visual journey that started many years ago. Each page is part of that journey, and each photo offers endless possibilities for the mind’s eye to observe and narrate the story. – Jeffrey S. Blackwell
